Great reference:
How to set up a private git server Note that there is one error. You need to exit out of the git user right after you modify your ssh keys.

Here are some further comands that work to get a copy of the repo and use it:

git clone [email protected]<ip address>:<name>.git ~/<name>/
git config --global "[email protected]"
git config --global "User Name"
cd <name>

Git rid of the MacOS weirdness:

find . -name '.DS_Store' -type f -delete
echo .DS_Store >> .gitignore
git add --all
git status
git commit .
git push

Force a local refresh (this is extreme and overwrites all local information):

git fetch --all
get reset --hard origin/master

Note that the above is simply a way to sync up and edit, primarily for testing Tributary Software projects. These are not necessarily the best for your situation. There are a million git tutorials out there. Read them. Review this site's Terms of Use.
